Brake Pad Wear

MY15

Is it normal for the rear pads to be more depleted than the fronts? I had new tyres fitted today and took the opportunity to have a close look at the pads. The fronts have much more meat than the rears which look to have about 4mm left. I thought it would be the fronts that would wear out first.

I suspect someone must have already changed the fronts without changing the rears !

(Oops, see it's a 2015 . Are you the original owner ?)

Mines just had a set of rear pads done at 13000 miles Evil or Very Mad No sticking callipers or any other fault found, whereas the fronts still have plenty of friction material left Confused Mines also a MY2015 Thumbs Up

on my 2012 both lasted 43,000 and were only changed as the rears were sticking in the calipers

Rear pads on mine changed at second service, fronts changed at the third service, rears are small compared to the fronts.

Washwipe and Hairy Dan: that sounds like a pattern that I conform to. Just coming up to 21000 miles and second service due in Nov so I guess that I'm in the right ball park for wear.

Yes Roy H. I'm the first owner and no pad changes so far.

Thanks all for you replies.
