Brakes

Getting confusing info, can anyone help.

Are the discs and pads the same for an SDV6 Commercial and SUV?

Is the front system Lucas or TRW?

Thanks in advance

Dave

That's what I thought.

Managed to confirm from previous service records that the rears are the LUCAS type, would it be fair to say that LUCAS would be fitted to the front as well?

any part suppliers worth their salt will be able to supply the right brakes pal , either with the reg number or the Chassis number but yes , I expect LR would use the same make for the whole car

Re: Brakes

Lucas braking system was bought out by TRW which I now understand is owned by ZF Friedrichshafen .

Will measure the pad height & width tomorrow, as that's the difference between the two systems.

Early, very early D4s did have different rear brakes and there was a definite difference in brake pads and possibly shoes, ISTR there was a lot of controversy about it at the time and warnings where issued as it was possible to fit the wrong pads, ISTR they where made from alloy of some type. The only other differences may be with the commercial.
“The Large One” a well known genius supplier who has regrettably retired from the fold did issue a “heads up” at the time. Thumbs Up

Here you go.
