Brand new rear discs scored

Morning All,

So I fitted new rear discs and pads ~2 weeks ago, a short trip from Derbyshire to Snowdonia last weekend and a few local trips.

I noticed a couple of days ago that my new discs are scored..

Before anyone asks... YES the pad is in the correct way Rolling with laughter

I'm very competent when it comes to turning spanners (Scania Master Technician and Army Class 1 Vehicle Mechanic).

I fitted Eicher discs from Eurocarparts and the pads are the Low dust pads from AF.

I removed the pad last night expecting to find some stones in there or something, but nothing..

Has anyone had anything similar?

The other side isn't as bad is still lightly scored?

Is it a case of cheapish discs and ceramic pads?

Thanks in advance for any replies

You haven’t got a sticking calipers have you? Do short drive and touch the alloy wheel hub and compare it to the others? Very Happy

Thank you,

I'll get some discs ordered from AF..

I was sucked into the weekly 50% off brakes that Eurocarparts fish for..

At least the pads will wear slower Rolling with laughter

Chalky,
On the way back from wales, I stopped and felt each wheel/ disc and they both seemed equal in temperature. I would have thought even if it was a sticking caliper it still shouldn't score.

I think the pads are just too hard for the discs.. I still love the low dust pads though..

I'm fitting new suspension arm bushes at the weekend on the rear so I suppose that'll be a good time to change out the discs.

I did the fronts (Full AF arm replacement) yesterday and went swimmingly, nothing seized at all..

Hoping for the same level of happiness for the rears Smile

I have been wire brushing and WD40 ing them for the last 2 weeks.. maybe that helped.
