Broken down Disco

I have just driven back from the pub after lunch & spotted an '06 Plate Discovery with it's bonnet up & hazards on in a layby near my office.

The female driver was looking massively unimpressed. My fellow passengers thought it was very funny & took to giving me abuse about how that will be me in just a couple of weeks time. I had to put them straight & tell them that was just one of the many "features & benefits of Land Rover ownership"

Still you have to fell sorry for the driver - Friday afternoon before a Bank Holiday & waiting for LR Assist. Censored !

I think you guys must have the patience of saints. Why do you accept that Land Rovers are unreliable and will probably let you down sooner or later? This is 2006. Whatever you buy, there should be a better than average chance of you completing your journey, particularly with a machine the price of a D3.
Do Land Rover award you with points for your staying power or something? Wink

I don't accept that my Disco3 is unreliable. Nor the D2 I had for 3 years prior. Wink

LR Binoculars though....oh.... a different matter altogether.

could be missing the point but who's to say it wasn't misfuelled / out of fuel / beyond the drivers wit to put it in P or N before trying to start it - not all 'breakdowns' are vehicle errors ya know! Wink

Er hang on, I was commenting on what cheddarwards said:

'My fellow passengers thought it was very funny & took to giving me abuse about how that will be me in just a couple of weeks time. I had to put them straight & tell them that was just one of the many "features & benefits of Land Rover ownership"

Clearly he seems to accept that it will go wrong but that it is all part of the Landrover deal. I've read a number of other people who express similar views. I'm not commenting myself or being negative, I was merely wondering how so many people seem to accept such problems; clearly you that have replied do not have any problems, so Very Happy
