Build date to delivery
What time scale is there from a factory build date to customer handover?
Do the dealers have much to do to the car once delivered and prior to handover?

It varies! But in my experience (car being delivered on Friday). 12 weeks quoted if the dealers have forward slots. Delivery to dealers was 8-9 weeks. Dealer needs to do a PDI and bolt on any dealer fit accesories (couple of things in my case probaly a morning's work) - max a week probably shorter. So in my case it could have been 9 weeks (last week it was available) but will be 10.
Then I read the question "Build Date". I think the build date was early July... but I'm not sure I was precisely quoted this.
Hope that helps.

Mine is scheduled for build on Sep 10th, and dealer says I will have before the end of that month. I suppose that could mean anything from about the 20th to the 30th!

I've been given a build date of the 19th of this month and delivery for "the end of the month"
Suprised they can't be more accurate, hence the asked question.
Wondered if this was achivable?

Build date quite often changes, but in 95% of cases it comes forward. Once the car is 'in build' (remembering that it's unlikely to be the issued build date), then it is usually 10 days to arriving at a mainland dealer.
Depending on accessories the dealer should be able to turn the vehicle around in a couple of days max. We have had situations where we have sent a truck to collect a car as soon as it's released from the line. We've then got it back and straight in to the workshop for it's PDI and then a valet. Total time in the region of 5hrs including transportation!!
Usual things to slow the process down are payment and/or finance docs and private plate transfers!!

Surely you dont want it delivered now as we are so close to the registration change?
When did you order yours? I put my order in on 1st June and have been told 1st week of Sept for handover.

It has been built and the dealer has asked for delivery.
Fingers crossed will have it on Friday next week
