You need the Wbus controller too which is upwards of £40 from Europe

Have come across this thread, have been holding out to order one from lr-fbh but never get the chance as always out of stock.
Is there any update of the code that includes the burner reset command?
Still doing some testing on the reset command

Only tested on my D3 ThermoTop V, but it works here.
When I can figure out how to post the code without the forum banning me I'll update it.
Right, so it turns out trying to post code triggers the site defence system and it blacklisted me. Martin has kindly helped me get that sorted and suggested I use a github gist, so here's the reset code I'm using on my D3 Thermotop V.
After reading several threads about bricking devices by routinely sending reset commands, this reads for errors first and only sends a reset if there are any logged.

Hi,
Glad to hear that code is still under slight development. I've designed board and made one. Because si9243 wasn't available anywere I've ordered it at aliexpress and it sortoff works. If car is locked webasto doesn't start, discovery3 2008 . I need to unlock it, open door wait a while and then pressing lower beam starts webasto. Is it connected with error codes or something?
I've created github with board also https://github.com/syntetyczny/LIN_DISCO3 for better development.

Thankyou i will have a look through that.
I have built one and have it all working now.

Ok, I figured it out what is happening. Time between 2-5 sec for low beam is quite short. If I count seconds between clicks on keyfob(not on lights like I did before) everything works fine.

New Here!
Hey all,
I stumbled across this thread whilst trying to diagnose a non-starting Thermo top C in a 2006 L322.
SO far I have sourced a copy of the Webasto diagnostic software and I'm currently half way though making up a cable to enable me to connect my laptop to the FBH by modifying an old USB to OBD2 adaptor I had lying around.
I only came here initially to search for a pinout of the themo top c but then fell down the rabbit hole and read all 22 pages!
Whilst researching all of this, It did get me wondering how much effort it would take to get a ESP32 or Arduino to talk to one of these heaters.
It seems like a lot of the ground work has already been done here so massive thank you to all of those who have shared their progress and experience so far.
Is there a downloadable list somewhere of all the W-Bus serial commands/ addresses etc ?
Is there a reason why so much focus has been put on the W Bus rather than the CAN bus? Does a list of CAN addresses / commands exist?
When the FBH is turned on via the solutions people have posted here, does the FBH send a signal to the vehicle to instruct it to turn on the dashboard fan blower? It seems less ideal if the FBH is powered on and warming the coolant circuit if there is no way to project that warmth into the air space of the vehicle

Thermo Top C in a L322 uses K-Bus not the proprietary W-BUS. If you wanted to use that, (God knows why...) you'd have to replace the controller for a W-BUS version.

Hi Flatlander,
Are you saying the L322 version is different to the D3/4 version ?
Does this mean the L322 Webasto will not work with most of the designs posted in this thread?
Does the webasto diagnostic software still work with the L322 version?

ThermoTop C is a Completely different unit/design than a ThermoTop V /evo with different internal AND external hardware.. and will not work in a D3/4
Diagnostic tool will work on both..Best regards
Harold

If you want a l322 remote start you could use this:

The TT-C doesn't need the complexity in this thread, the control systems are already there to provide an integrated solution using direct input (remote control) and K-BUS across FFBH, ATCU, IPK &IHU in the vehicle.
Timer set & ambient >15deg. C. fans run to cool interior
Timer set & ambient <15deg. C. FFBH starts & fans run to warm interior
The above is also available with manual input to IHU when vehicle is not running and either key in and Aux. on or key out, also with remote control switch on/off. Run time is 30mins.
On top of that (and I can't remember the temperatures exactly) below -4deg. C., the engine & cabin are warmed, below -14deg. C. the engine only is warmed.
Why LR insisted on turfing out the excellent K-BUS implementation (other than as part of it's ongoing de-BMW'ing under Ford) and using the unfriendly W-BUS protocol, trying to use the IHU as an interface between it & CAN is beyond me, it was used for the life of L322 and other than some power consumption issues in a small subset of pre-BMS vehicles, was pretty much flawless.

Key FOB operation of FBH
Hello,
I have just seen the thread on a method to use the factory FOB to control the FBH. It is a relatively old post and i was curious if there were any attempt to use this method. Also, the post provide links to information on the HEX file and code, but refers to a microcontroller. IS this a separate item?
