Thanks for that. Will have a poke around at the intercooler pipes too.
I went out for a test drive last night and it is definitely first turbo related - worried the turbo may be completely ****ed. It sounds like it is whistling like crazy when it comes on boost, and then disappears when the second turbo comes in.
There are no exhaust fumes, and it doesn't do it when rev'd with no load, i.e. no boost, so am I correct to think its likely NOT the crossover pipe? (Which would be really disappointing at less than 50k miles.)
I also picked up this new fault code: P061B-9A ( 28 ) "Internal control module torque calculation performance - Component failure - Component or system operating conditions"
Maybe making a leap, but that feels related to turbo boost/torque output.
Fingers crossed it is just something loose somewhere and boost is escaping... Cheers,
Gareth

OK so the fault has not occurred on every ignition cycle otherwise the EML would be illuminated. (Its essentially an "pending" fault) It's not a common fault code so I'd suspect something amiss with the pipework first.
Have a look at the air filter and the MAF sensors and make sure all are clean with no dirt or debris, and a clean air filter. Check carefully along the plastic induction pipes from the MAF sensors for any cracks, and also the connections on the pipe from the intercooler to the plenum chamber.
You basically need to check thoroughly that there is no leak on either side of the turbo pipes and eliminate them first. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Hi, sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but there's not a lot of info aqbout this error message (p061b-9a). I've had the dreaded "restricted performance" flicker on a couple of times a few minutes after a cold start, and wondering if it's something easily fixed or wherether it's going to leave me in the lurch on a long journey this weekend.
@wizbongre did you get to the bottom of your issue, ordoes anyone else have any experience and/or suggestions?
Thank you

Hi,
Probably not what you want to hear but our story progressed with more and more noise from the turbo's, eventually leading to a complete loss of power and permanent limp mode (with EML on.)
We ended up having to replace 1 turbo (we replaced both whilst it was in bits but only 1 was knackered.)
Its now gone back to a more normal turbo whine under boost and drives much better than it ever did!Cheers,
Gareth

Thank you so much for the update, it is helpful to know what might be in store for me.
I don't recall any turbo whine or anything, only low coolant and secondary battery warnings, so it'll be interesting to see how it pans out.
I did find a Jaguar DTC crib sheet which talked about one possible cause of the error code being oil in the intake system, so turbos leaking oil could easily be a caue.
I guess I'm just going to have to risk it.
