Buying a car in Italy for export |
|
Ciao
Would anybody help me please? I want to buy car in Italy and export it to other EU country. What is the process? In my country they just need purchase agreement between seller and buyer +car`s registration papers. But I have been told, in Italy exporting is complicated and expensive. Apparently seller needs to apply for export number plates and it takes some time and money.
Is that correct? I`m not going to drive it away from Italy myself, its going on car trailer.
Grazie

Hi, from what i know it is necessary to contact the STA of the ACI (Automobile Club d'Italia) directly.
Radiation for export:
At the end of the process, a radiation certificate will be issued, also available in digital format. You can access it through a special code that will be given to you at the end of the practice.
As of January 1, 2020, unlike what happened before, the certificate can only be issued if the car has been successfully inspected (MOT) no more than 6 months prior to the request for radiation.
So if you want to proceed with the deregistration of your car for export, our advice is to check in time the date of the last inspection carried out. If it is earlier than the 6 months provided, even if it is only a few days, you will have to do it again.
Who can apply for export car clearance?
To request radiation can be:
- the car owner
- a beneficiary not yet resulting from the PRA (public vehicle registration)
In the second case it could be an heir who has not yet completed the process of accepting the inheritance, or the same buyer who will have to show the deed of sale at the time of the request.
Documents required for the deregistration for export
Regarding the documentation, please note that you will need to exhibit:
Unified Instance
Certificate of Ownership (CdP) in paper format
Registration certificate or Single Document of Circulation.
Car license plates
Valid identity document
Auto clearance for export
The application is nothing more than a formal request form, available directly at the ACI offices.
A transport document, such as the International Air Waybill, certifying that the car has really crossed the border must be added to the cards we mentioned above.
It must bear the signature of the buyer who actually took delivery of the machine.
However, if the car has already been re-registered abroad, it will be sufficient to present the new foreign registration certificate. - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0
