C1A03-1C (28) & • C1A07-62 (AF) Fault codes

For the past couple of weeks, I've been getting a really annoying red suspension warning on the dash and a bong, sometimes resets its self other times doesn't and a further double bong and the warning of max 30mph (although the motor doesn't go into limp mode) problem being it drops to the bump stops and the ride feels like you are on a trampoline.

Codes showing were

• C1A03-1C (28 ) Front left height sensor - General electrical failure - circuit voltage out of range

• C1A07-62 (AF) Cross articulation - Algorithm based failure - signal compare failure

Finally had a chance to have a look at the problem yesterday and as I had a spare set of height sensors, decided to swap out the front left, however on examination I saw that the sensor bar was in very poor shape and the rubber very perished, it was barely holding together.
Other problem being the bolts holding the sensor in place were well past their sell by date and I didn't fancy attempting to remove them, I did however manage to remove the bar from the sensor and replac ewith a new bar rather than replace the whole unit. Hoping thats what was throwing the codes as the bar wasn't doing what it should.
Calibrated the suspension when finished and also the steering angle sensor for good measure using the IID.

It appears that this has sorted the problem but won't know for sure until I get out for a long run.

You can buy the bar on its own rather than having to buy a full sensor, part number being RVF500011

A knackered linkage will throw up the cross articulation fault,(C1A07) just as it will for a seized sensor.
The other (C1A03) looks like a bad contact or weak wire at the connector. Seems you have it sorted for now, but if you do have to change the sensor copper grease the bolts!!

So, jumped in the motor this morning at minus 9 and after a few minutes had a lovely dash lit up like a christmas tree.
Cleared all the spurious faults but 1 that returned was a suspension fault C1A03-1C (AF)
so this afternoon I swapped out the sensor but appears it has made no difference, I am still getting the
C1A03-1C (AF) fault, the wiring looks to be in good nick
Had to call a temporary halt in attempt to thaw out.

Looks like its bite the bullet time for that sensor. Plenty of penetrating oil should help free the rust. Check calibration once fitted Thumbs Up

appears so, when the wiring leave the sensor (that looks to be ok) where does it go to.
Of course not helped by the fact that I had the underside Dinitrol treated last year.
I've got the plastic wheel arch liner out and exposed the 3 large multiplugs

OK so it looks like NSF sensor value is much too low, I think the minimum is around 1.3v or thereabouts. All else is within tolerance and looks good.

Its a new genuine sensor and its the same fault that was thrown up with the old sensor,
so presume there is a problem with the wiring
Now to find a diagram that shows where the wiring is routed

I don't however have a guide to where the connections are located.
Anyone help with the location of connector C2560 - C2559 and C2293 - C2294

The old RAVE for my TD5 had pics of every connector and also the location of it Big Cry
