HI
Anybody can give me some tips on what to look for regards a fault code of C1A27.
I have checked the fuses (3&26) and they are OK
If I remove the relay and hot wire the socket the compressor runs.
Any help would be appreciated

Codes came off MSV2..
THE ECU FAULT CODE MEMORY CONTAINS CODES FOR THE FOLLOWING FAULTS-:
COMPRESSOR CIRCUIT -:C1A27
GENERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE - CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND OR OPEN. (INTERMITTENT)

THE ECU FAULT CODE MEMORY CONTAINS ALSO 34 NOT TESTED FAULT CODES

Whats the fault? Is the compressor not running? try changing the relay (I think the one next to it is identical and can be tried for testing but a new one is about a fiver)

Hi
Fault is " Suspension Fault " and orange light on dash.
Compressor is not running (other than when hot wired.)
Had alreadt tried swapping relay 7 annd 9 over , no change.

Hi mate, I'm no expert  the relay is a known problem and swapping it was a good call, it may be worth replacing with a new one as your compressor runs when its wired, other than that it may be a sensor but you need one of the techs on here, Disco-Mikey. Flack, Wiggs Bodsy or the like  hopefully this reply will at least bump it up until someone picks up on the thread!

The compressor is not running, due to whatever the fault is. I am not familiar with the MSV2, but any other system I have used gives another 2 digits at the end of the code. Without them, its means nothing. My D3 Build Thread

LR tech info gives this as:
C1A27-14: Compressor circuit. General electrical failure - circuit short to ground or open.
Does that help ?

Another member had the same symptoms, but I don't know which fault code. His problem was a faulty wheel/ABS sensor

I just had my fault codes read and have the same problem. Suspension has packed-up. Any ideas where to start? Problem only manifested itself after jacking the car (wheels hanging) yesterday. Could be coincidence but suspect not.

So, just replaced my compressor after doing a refresh on my old compressor and ended up having a fault code, still. (C1A27 on my 4Dcan tool).
Got the same fault code after replacing the compressor.
Just read it on another forum.... fortunately somebody else has made the same mistake on another forum.
Removed fuses 3 and 26 from the engine bay fuse box to prevent the suspension from attempting to self-level once the vehicle was lifted. Replaced the #3 fuse in the #5 slot, which is supposed to be empty!!!
Went out, found the mistake and Viola! Success. $850 bucks down the drain, and I still have to get a reprogram (another $120), but hey, don't have to worry about the missus and kids getting stranded from an air compressor failure for a long time.
I hope this helps another do-it-yourselfer that makes the same mistake. 2006 LR3 HSE

I'd like to share my recent experience, because it may save someone a few hundred ££££ $$$$$ 
Had 'suspension fault' and ' normal height only' messages a couple of times, and fault code C1A27 compressor circuit general elect failure,circuit short to battery, (intermittent). Decided a day or two later,to put car into off-road height , let compressor run for a while, and then switched ign off, and was about to get axle stand out and have a look at the compressor. But I noticed the compressor carried on running for ages after switching off. I'm pretty sure this shouldn't happen, but it is something I have never had reason to pay attention to in all the time I have had the D3  After a few minutes I thought, this is just going to go on and on,and flatten the battery, or catch fire or something, so I pulled the relay out, obviously it stopped then, and replaced it with a new relay ( courtesy of AF) a few months ago  Compressor now didn't run until I switched ign on again, and is now running as I would expect, to top up when required. I'm not going to rejoice just yet, but all has been well with the suspension for a few days now, and hope I caught this just in time. PS, I could see an unscrupulous stealer potentially stinging a customer for a new compressor,relay and all kinds of 'wiring checks' for this one

Guys, I had the same very problem - amber light, couple of seconds after start (with doors closed). Trying to erase the error - no success, replacing fuse #3, - no success, replacing the relay - success. On that point I read DenverTopCat's post, and I didn't know there was another fuse (#26). It was also fine, but that nade me to check if there is a third one I don't know about and it appeared to be - FL10, 60Amp. Well it was gone, after I replaced it, the error came back again after a minute after start, I cleared all errors again and fir now everythings fine.
I really hope this will help someone
