Camshaft position sensor fault
Hi all -
I have a problem with my 2007 Disco 3 2.7d. Whilst driving it just lost power and came to a halt.
I put the tester on it and it showed the Fault code P0341 Camshaft Position Sensor A.
Ive just fitted a new sensor (genuine LR part), a very fiddly job, cleared the codes and memory, came to start it and again it turns over but will not start and the same code has come up again.
Im started to get a little frustrated ..... is there anyone who knows of what the issue could be?

Ouch.
Valves and Pistons met and bent valves.
requires replacement heads as a minimum.
Remove cambelt cover to confirm.
or have a look on the drives side to see if something has blown out the plastic cover

Normally your see a melted hole in timing belt cover left side (looking in from the front) if not your need to remove the cover and check the timing belt tensioner.Wanted D4s non runners pm for competitive price.

Thanks for the replies, I looked and couldn't find a burning hole in the cam belt cover so i stripped it back and removed the cover, low and behold the worst scenario was there, the oil pump casing had failed and the pulley broken off completely. The cam belt is less than 25,000 old but the oil casing appears to be the original as it isn't the newer strengthened design.
So it looks like its a lot of work and possibly beyond my capability. Has anyone had a similar issue and had it all repaired, if so or if anyone knows, roughly what kind of bill am i expecting to put it right?

Just another query, I’ve heard from a mechanic that Land Rover may have done a recall to replace the oil pump because of the weakness, I can’t find anything, does anyone else know if there was one.
