I managed to get hold of Liam and he is speaking to the dealer, will see what happens later.
As an aside, Liam said he didn't get on the forum anymore, a change of job, and that someone else had taken over, think he said Mike, anyone heard that? Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Well I've been told it has new software now, will see how it is in a couple of hours. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Had software updated for the second time and it made little difference. I was originally told it would be a hardware upgrade, but alas only software. LR who worked with the dealer at the time said that the speed of the system was within their parameters   Please let us know how it has affected your system

So that is new software put on, I think it is a bit better although its hard to tell trying it a day apart. I have videoed a post code input below, have a check against yours to see how it compares, I'll be interested to find out.

Hi Dave admittedly its hard to tell, but it does look a little faster than mine, bearing in mind that even say a tenth of a second would be an improvement

Dave mine is much faster than that  ...have you checked the software number in the hidden menu to see what they have upgraded it to? It should say something equivalent or greater than "Overall: 3782_121019" 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Vehicle goes in next week for new head unit. By the looks of what you guys are saying, I don't think I'm going to see much difference. Let's see.

Our 2012MY XS is going in for it's service on 23rd of this month.
They took note when it was booked in that the response to touchscreen was slow but I'm not sure what I should be asking/expecting them to do. Do I just quote the software number that DG mentions ?
Do they need advance notice ?
Can DG or anyone else advise ?
