I bought a low spec, low mileage well maintained D3 and will add a few bits, but in reality, there isnt much on an HSE that floats my boat a lot more than what is on an S.
Biggest pain with the HSE (IMO) is the silly nav screen - quality is poor, factory nav systems on any vehicle are almost always clunky rubbish and almost always out of date, so with a hole in the dash and an aftermarket stereo already fitted its easy to put a tablet running android in there that will do the nav and media in the car.
I will add an electric driver seat I have already obtained and have a plan with relays to get the switches working. I dont care about leather seats so will fit the current cloth upholstery to the electric frame. With cloth, i dont need a heated seat either.
Just picked up a steering wheel with the cruise and stereo buttons, so hopefully that will be a relatively simple fix.
Then I am done with internal mods and all of the above will have cost about £200 and some time.

bloody expensive way to go about it in my opinion
more more importantly a pain in the bum to retrofit certain stuff, as the car was probably a skeleton when the bits would have been originally fitted
plus, there is always a danger of introducing rattles and squeaks to the interior if you start pulling trim apart
in short: just wait for the right spec car to come along and save yourself the headache, cost and loss of knuckle skin needed to retro fit load of options
