Yes you can, no dash lights will be affected, but, it is'nt a straight forward blanking procedure, you need to remove the Butterfly Valve in the induction

I'm sure this is a stupid question but what benefits do you get from blanking ?

D3 breathes in fresh clean cold air, rather than recycled exhaust gases. Benefits will be different from person to person, from economy, pick up, pull away etc etc.
I WAS going to do it, decided not to in the end as I do like mine as it is.

Apart from dropped a bolt into the induction system, NONE.
If your EGR valves pack up when blanked, its life as normal, which is a benefit I guess

I blanked my egr,s at first sign of trouble.Used bell auto kit with limited tools to hand.Straight forward as had blow by blow account of how to do on this site.No lights on dash and no change to performance or economy. When your as far from a dealer as me it,s nice to know egr wont leave me stuck. Cheaper as well! "Tie me kangeroo down sport!"
