| Can you lock yourself out? |

Silly question I know and in terms of locking yourself out the house, well I've managed to do that several times much to the surprise of my wife as I turn up at her office.
However, with the smart key I wondered whether you can leave the keys in the car and press the door handle to lock it, leaving the keys inside? If so, if you were to touch the door handle again to unlock it, would the keys inside the car think you had them in your pocket?

Having left the key in the cup holders once or twice (giving them to the wife to get in, then she puts them down there) I realise they're not in my pocket when the car refuses to lock  Morris Dancers: Drinkers with A Dance Problem
