Can’t get the wear sensor on to Textar Pads

Hi All
I swapped the front discs and pads over on my car today but have been unable to get the wear sensor and clip back on to the inner pad! I’ve fitted Textar pads and it appears the metal that the sensor slides over is wider/thicker than the slot in the sensor. I’ve knackered the old sensor anyway as it was brittle so have a new one on order but was wondering if anyone else had this issue or am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

Not used Textar before,so can't help on that front.

Maybe post a photo or two of the sensor and of the pad to help us see what is up with it?

Cheers

I fitted Textar pads on my Disco 4 last year and didn’t have any issue with the wear sensor.

Personally, I wouldn't be too bothered if there were no wear sensors.

I found out the hard way that, in their infinite wisdom, JLR only have one on a single front wheel and one on a single back wheel. If one of the un-sensored wheels wears down first (which is what happened to me) then your wear sensors are useless. Best to just rely on visual inspection ... Whistle
