Can't see Parking aid listed on IID tool |
|
The Parking sensors (rear) have never worked on our D3 SE since we bought it, after some investigation I found no fuse fitted hence no blinking LED on the dash. Installed a fuse and LED now blinks, but I don't get an beeps when reverse is selected.
Had a look with the IID tool today and I couldn't find parking aid under live values, it also doesn't come up under faults and I can't see it in the CCF.
I know the parking ECU is fitted, not checked it's getting power as yet, but if that is faulty could that be the reason the IID tool doesn't see it? I'm sure it shoud be in the CCF though unless somene has removed it ?
Any idea's

I’m sure Someone else had the iid not seeing it. Can’t remember what it was in the end.
I reckon you will need a parking speaker though

On my SE spec D3, I was getting rear parking sensor faults, despite the fact that the parking sensors where not fitted. I don't have the dashboard button either. My SE set up may have been factory spec for Asia market (mine was first registered in Japan, then imported to NZ).
Despite turning off parking sensor aids in CCF, faults for each of the 4 sensors persisted. The parking sensor ECU was however fitted behind left hand rear panel. I unplugged 3 plugs from this ECU it and the faults cleared and never returned. Interestingly it was only rear bumper that was throwing faults. No sensors in front bumper either.
Apologies as it doesn't help in your case, but given my experience I would have thought you would have the option in the CCF.

Thanks, I would of thought that too.
doing a search on here someone said about not being able to access Medium CANBUS via IID tool, can anyone shed light on med canbus ECU's so I can verify I can see them ?
Again not sure if that would effect the CCF *D3 V8 SE Blue 2004 on LPG with Rock sliders, roof rack/Ladder, snorkel, 275/65x18 STT Muds, engine/G/box ally protection.

Oh I remember now!
No ECUs we’re showing up on the medium? Speed bus.
Turns out the pins on the diag OBD plug weren’t making contact with the IiD

Parking Aid - MCAN? OBD Port? |
|
Trollman - did you ever get to the bottom of this?
I'm getting a similar issue where the Parking Aid module is not showing (don't have the option for seeing live values for the sensors), and also the fault is showing:
U0159-00 - Lost communication with parking assist control module (2A)
Checked the resistance at the OBD port and the HCAN is showing 60 Ohms, but the MCAN was fluctuating.
Not sure what to do as next steps.
Anyone help?

I think someone tried an short OBD extension lead as a cheap test (if pins are poor fit)

Hi Pete K
Sorry, I don't follow.? Is the idea that it could be the OBD port? even if that were the case, and that's why the GAP tool is throwing the error about not being able to communicate with the Parking aid module, it doesn't explain why the parking sensors are also not working..
confused.

Well if the diagnostic isn’t fully working then you can’t read all park sensor fault code.
If that U code is coming back instantly and consistently then it could be genuine. Often it can be ignored

Not looked into it any further as yet.
Can someone provide what ECU's are on the MCAN so I can see if i can see any of them or just not the Park assist. *D3 V8 SE Blue 2004 on LPG with Rock sliders, roof rack/Ladder, snorkel, 275/65x18 STT Muds, engine/G/box ally protection.

Just to bring this to a conclusion, today I thought I would start the truck as it's not been used for ages, and then I inserted the IID tool into the ODB port and gave it an extra push in.
Low and behold read the faults and Park Aid was listed. Faults were;
B1B52-96 - rear sounder - compaonent failure (internal failure)
B1B44-01 - Right rear outer sensor genenal failure.
So thats some good news, so off to do some research now.
Thanks, all. *D3 V8 SE Blue 2004 on LPG with Rock sliders, roof rack/Ladder, snorkel, 275/65x18 STT Muds, engine/G/box ally protection.
