Cant switch to low gear

Hello
I have a discovery 3 2005 2.7 Diesel HSE, with manual transmission.

I can not put the car in low gear, nothing happens. I have checked the security No. 24 in the car
I have the gear in Nutral

Is there a kind soul out there who can give me good advice on what else I can do
