if it was in print it would probably make good toilet paper IMO

The first safari was to the track, where 60 mph loafed by in 8.6 seconds, a time that would inexplicably bulge to 8.8 seconds once the 32-valve DOHC 4.4-liter V-8 had racked up 40,000 miles
did they expect it to have no wear and tear and .2 secs, what a bulge as seen by the shuttle

In the field, the LR3’s fancier off-road gimmicks — the display screen showing wheel articulation, the multisetting Terrain Response system that adjusts throttle and anti-slip controls to various surfaces, and the hill-descent control that automatically works the brakes during downhill maneuvers — proved just that — gimmicks
once again, wa.kers.

Nice to have an auxiliary input for the stereo, but no way can the driver plug his iPod into the hole at the back of the center console. Why not put it in the glove box?

Audio about impossible to read with bifocals. Sorry, but everybody over 40 wears ’em, and anybody who could afford this car is over 40.
I don't reqire an ipod and have some 650 songs stored on the 6 discs, say an ave of 3 and a half mins gives me almost 38 hrs music and could fit more on and I am almost 40 and have 20/20 vision' maybe he should have his licence revoked. petty bunch of wa#kers who should go home and play with their barbies.

It's no use defending the indefensable. This is how customers think about cars.
I thought it a reasonable piece. Discos tend to spend way too much time at the dealers being sorted.

just shows they weren't trying hard enough
I'd defy anyone to prove that it doesn't help once you go beyond the Disco3's 'natural' ability 8)

Hmmmff just think, each £40k+ sale here probably subsidises 2 or 3 £25k sales in the US. And the extra years warranty. Yahoo, yippeeyieee. Remember what happened to Triumph with the Stag.

I might disagree with many things in this article (and agree with a few), but this comment is just stupid. With the Belkin adapter and a connector cable, the rear location works fine. I use the other two power ports for the GPS and telephone respectively which I would rather have up front anyway.
Granted, I wouldn't mind full iPod integration so that I can control the iPod from the stereo, but what I have now is perfectly adequate.

To each their own I suppose but mostly petty stuff.
The iPod thing is fine, my only complaint is the lower sound level it produces but that's not LR's fault.
BTW I'm not 40 and never will be.

Not bad for a road test of an off road vehicle... actually, pretty good. PG'ed
Thats alright as a review goes. Remember the Yanks think brake dust on their nice alloys is a warranty item!
Minor things wrong with a brand new designed vehicle, which is why you should always buy the first facelifted car, @ 2 years into the build when all these minor things are a thing of the past.
My only complaints about the D3 is its weight and hence its terrible fuel consumption and the centre console sticking into the middle of the cabin, if it was just a bit more ergonmic.....read attractive.
Also are the pick od the D3's bum, do USA have a different bumper, I thought the tow hitches on UK models come from under the bumper not through it.

Yeah, they get paid.
But they are car guys, not off-road vehicle aficionados. Much like taking Jeremy Clarkson's word on the Defender, Car and Driver's reviewers are not necessarily to be taken seriously off the pavement.
