Car shut down to save battery

Quick question as just back from hols..whilst queuing up with all the the other discoveries getting on the ferry from Caen the kids where watching the RSE for about 1/2 hr and the car shut down saying saving energy. This I understand but the battery is only a few moths old and it is a bosch AGM so surely it should last longer before doing this??

Nope it's perfectly normal. The battery management system monitors drain on the battery and shuts down everything once the charge starts to drop. You're lucky it lasted 30 mins before shutting down, most modern systems only last about 3 - 5 minutes before shutting down.
