It raises an interesting point. 24,000 miles is < 9 month's use for me.
I've been asked "Why have you spent so much money on a car that you're going to wreck by putting so many miles on it?".
I've replied "Why would I spend so much money on a car that I don't use?"
Genuine question: Do people spend £26,500 over a 3 years on a car that they can only travel <22 miles a day in?2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄

I’m with you, while I don’t do your mileage, but cars are there to be driven. I’m not far off 300K KM on my D3. If I was only doing a couple of thousand KM a year I wouldn’t buy a new car.

SWMBO did. We bought (outright) a 6 series convertible in 2008. Knocked the dealer down to 53.5k. Used to commute back and forth to work for 3.5years. Total miles 21k. P/ex for an X5. Trade in value £20k. Sold my Defender as well at the same time. Loss for the Defender over 3yrs was £400.
Now I see why I don't bother with new cars.

I’m about 25k myself across all my cars. What drew my eye to the 8k was a guy started a thread a few weeks ago citing that sort of annual mileage.
I guess there is a proportional increase for more mileage. The deal I am on is for 6k every six months with 19p per mile over mileage penalty.D3 07 SE - still going strong

I don't really understand why it's so expensive?
We've just leased a Skoda superb with a list price of £30k for £7200 over 24 months and 24k miles.
So for 36 months you'd expect £11k, yet this discovery which is worth 50% more is more than double to lease over the same period?
Genuine question - am I missing something?
