Gas mantle lamps! The lovely hiss from them is definitely a childhood memory for me, along with the blocking you got if you touched the mantle. Another memory was the foot pump for the water in our first Robin and then the next caravan, a Cavalier, had an electric foot pump Shocked Laughing and a Portapotti that made a blowing noise when you flushed it and could be heard several yards away Embarassed

We store the caravan locally, for less than it would cost to insure a moho.

It’s great to have freedom to explore when setup.

It's either cheap storage or expensive motohome insurance, we pay about average round here and it's £300 pa for storage, insurance on our A Class is £250, only a £100 more than we paid to insure the caravan.

I’m paying £320 storage. It’s not Fort Knox, but a working farm. Insurance costs are much higher around Stockport, than Rural Wales!!

I see your towing your MG, which gets you over the mobility on-site problem. Nice!

One thing that will force a move to moho’s in the future is when hybrid/ev vehicles become more prevalent. They won’t do well with a caravan on the back, so eventually we will be driving electric camper vans!
