Love the steps. What did you use if you don't mind me asking?

Engine Enamel, straight onto the aluminium and no primer

I may get them Powder coated for a better long term finish if these damage / scuff too easily.

Its a pain in the bum getting the tread plates off and back on again, i ended up damaging both sides. I know but no-one else could probably tell unless they were very closely inspecting. Its may have been easier and quicker just to mask off.

Not sure if tread plates are available separately or not.

Looks great! How did it hold up long term? Did you end up powder coating?

Lasted about a year sprayed then I had them powder coated.

I would powder coat as the preference.

that looks super cool, exactly what i want todo on mine..

How did you release the plates to get them powered coated was it easy? or did you have to take all the rivets out?

As you could not bake them with all the rubber / plastics still attached?

I did the same to my side steps, plasticote paint, rattle cans all eventually wore off at the rear due to muck being thrown off the rear tyres so for a quick tidy up I used tyre paint and I’ve never looked back much harder wearing and very easy to touch up and gives a nice mat look
