Hi Aeromac,
A couple of months on, how is this working out? Still all good? Thinking of doing same for my D4
Would be great to have any feedback after a few months of use.

It's still working well, I use it more than I thought I would in fact.
It can still be a little distracting but that's more my own fault....browsing Spotify Playlists...
I found that using the AUX for Audio generated some alternator type interference. I would address this if this was the only means of routing the sound but the phone still pairs with bluetooth for music (and calls too) so I get the CarPlay interface and a solid audio output.
I was wary of updating to IOS12, I really wanted Google Maps etc. but I wasn't sure if it would throw up issues..it didn't and it works well.
The only minor gripes this far are:
1) The Screen definition or contrast is not brilliant, which can be an issue when using either Apple or Google maps.
In low density areas the map can look a bit washed out. The mapped route shows up well but other roads and details can blend in to the background (the Google satellite image is vivid though).
When I get time I intend to play with the settings a little further to try and improve this.
2) I find the GPS signal can be weak if the phone is kept low eg. around the armrest.
Otherwise overall I'm happy so far...

I'd "updated" the software on mine and borked it...I didn't need to as it was fine. It just showed that an update was available and I thought, why not?
I emailed them in Oz and got an immediate reply with a file and instructions on how to fix my attempt.
Back up and running!!

Have installed now in my Disco. Couple of teething problems with locating the image correctly on the screen and I am locating the two control boxes down near the lower glove box, have them in the glove box for now until I get a chance to do it properly and neatly.
Just got emailed a software update from navplus so that is next job. Pricy but good to have nav, spotify etc on the bigger screen. Is it worth it, that is a personal thought, I think so.

Would you mind sharing some photos? Does this keep the stock interface and nav? I would like the accessibility of the apps.. i.e. apple maps, waze, spotify through carplay.

Answer from Naviplus for my D4 MY2011
"Thank you
That's the 2nd gen Audio from LR, and unfortunately we do not have a product available for that car.
The manufacturer has closed the production line for that audio model.
Tim"

My understanding is you use the ‘Nav’ button to toggle between the factory satnav and the CarPlay screens.

There are some Pics on the 1st page..& as Kelvo says I believe you can cycle between it and factory Nav.
There is another option from the US (NAVITOOL) that I was looking at but I went for the NAVIPLUS as it used the factory touch input. http://www.navtool.com/land-rover-lr4-2010...egory.aspx
If you're dead set on CarPlay it might be worth a shout...(no affiliation to either btw)

Just got out of a hire car and thought it would be great if my Disco had CarPlay. Did a quick search on the forum and look what I find. You guys are great.
The the question is what Gen system do I have? How do I tell?
Mine looks the same as the images at the start of this post, minus the CarPlay of course
Also I assume that other than the Factory nav all other functions remain? (4x4 screen, timed climate, etc.)
Is there a ware to access factory Nav? As it does have the off road mode.
Might be buying myself a Christmas present. Don't tell SWMBO the cost Dorian Woolger
