Case instead of rear seat
Has anybody replaced one of the outer rear seats with a case construction?
Need more space for e.g. Coleman stove, gas lanterns and other stuff
Think this would be a nice spot for a case... Engel fridge is supposed to be mounted on top of it..
Maybe with pics/measurments??? some

Have taken the centre seat out to mount an Engel 45 before now ...the slidelock screws to an DIY alum plate which has holes drilled out for the bolts to use the seat bolt holes. Solid as a rock 8)
Don't see why you couldn't do the same with a side seat to mount a box. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Perfect place for an engel.
Once the seat is removed (T50 torx?) use the resulting bolt holes to mount stuff.Long succession of Disco's since 2001...
SIII Lightweight - neglected & rusting. Bulkhead, A panels, vent panel & outriggers now disintegrated - Next years project!
Just had an experience with the Removal of seat..
I had removed Row 3 Left seat to accomodate Radio Equipment
and Toolbox, which resulted in failed MOT...
If the Vehicle is registered for 7 seats, none of the seats should be removed.
Since the MOT also inspects function of Seatbelts, on all seats.. ( at least in Sweden they do )
If You want to remove a seat, You will need to " Retype / Change the Registration " of the Vehicle to a 6 seater...
My removal resulted i a very hasty refitment of th 7th seat to pass MOT.. And Double Inspection Cost..
The fun part of it all was that the Disco passed last year with seat removed..
So be sure that You are within MOT standards when doing the removal..
