Castrol Magnatec A1 comes to an end.
We started to get low on stock on Magnatec 5w30 A1 this week so have gone to reorder to find it is no longer available and has been replaced with Magnatec A5
A1 met the Ford standards WSS-M2C913A & B & C
A5 meets Ford standards WSS-M2C913-B & C & D
In the big scheme of things this is a bit of a non event, it is a small improvement, just letting you all know something different will be coming out in our service kits in the future.
The immediate problem though is that the A5 is out of stock this week at our suppliers, so we are promoting just the Mobil 5w30 short term (much the same price). Castrol will reappear as it becomes available.
We do have own brand and Castrol Edge for anyone that wants something cheaper or dearer.Paul Redding

I also understand that one or more of the supermarket chains has A1 on offer to clear so maybe a good idea to watch out for specials over the coming weeks.

Just checking, but I presume it's OK to mix Castrol Magnatec A1 and Castrol Magnatec A5?
I have some A1 left over from a previous oil change, along with some A5 from my last oil change.
Both are 5W30 grade.
