Catches/Clasps

Hello disco3.co.uk....

Just took the plunge today and bought my first Landrover, a 5yr old commercial Disco 3 TDV6, Air Suspension, 55 k miles on the clock. Have to start pulling a horsebox with 2 large horses, and after much agonising, went for the Disco over the Toyota Landcruiser that 95% of the jeep-owning population here in Ireland seem to drive. Partly swayed by the passion displayed by the members on here for their Discos when I was researching. Surely it's worth sacrificing a little reliability for a lot of character.... Isn't it? Feeling some apprehension this evening. Collecting next Wednesday.

She's in pretty good shape - a couple of minor things wrong - the catches for the lower glove compartment and the centre storage box are broken or half-working. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I could get replacements other than going to a main dealer? Or indeed able to tell me how the parts would be described to do an online search?

Thanks

Well hello there Johnners Thumbs Up

Good to have another member from the "Ould Sod" on here 8)

I wouldn't have too many concerns over reliability with Land Rover. We here at "casa Zebadee" have been driving LR's since 1993 & I honestly say that we have had a days trouble with any of them.

The mix over the years would be RR's, RRS's Disco's 100 & 200 Tdi, TD5 & D3's & an FL2. with a mix of both new & secondhand.

Don't worry that felling of apprehension will soon turn into "permagrin" 8)

Thanks Zebadee. My local garage owner is a big Land Rover fan - he has two Disco 2s and a Range Rover. I borrowed his 1994 Petrol 4L V8 to get out in the snow over Christmas, and apart from having to refuel every half an hour I loved it to pieces. So here I am....
