CB Mounting Overhead Console
Anyone done anything similar to the below, looks really smart, and up out the way...

I'm presuming the header is separated from the body to get it to fit? It's the location I'd like to get one fitted in the next few months, any pointers welcome...D3 TDV6 SE '06

Looks a good place, the Mike lead might get annoying after a while, specially on rough track, swing in your face
Not sure how he did that one though, must be room behind as that model doesn’t have a detachable facia by the looks of it.
There’s plenty of options for having the unit out the way, a fair few have the controls on the Mike so the unit can go under the seat for example. I love my midlands 42.

Never understood why anyone would mount a radio on the roof, imagine the mic coming off and hitting you in the head or you move to avoid it and hit the go pedal.

The other issue with mounting overhead is being able to actually read the display. Often you'll find the display "greys out" when viewed from odd angles, and it's not a natural place to focus your eyes when driving.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Hi @no dosh
That’s a great point , suppose another place would be if there’s no sat nav is in the centre cubby hole
Seen a few others, where the unit was mounted in the glove box and most of the controls where on the mic, another place was mounted in place of the bottom 12v lighter connection
Suppose these days the only time there used are on greenlaning trips etc

That is very good point, or more likely hit the Mrs! I hadn't thought of that, we'll go for a dash height install at highest D3 TDV6 SE '06

The people that have problems pressing buttons generally have problems with other things.
The amount of times you actually change a cb are minimal so just set it then use the lock button to lock it - simples05 D3 V8 HSE, LR Passion tree bars, wildbear compressor guard, LRP switch panel, ARB rear locker + compressor, Trigger 6 shooter electrical system
12 RRS SDV6 HSE (Hers) - Gone and replaced with an I Pace - I can tell you now EV is not the future yet
