Center Parcs - Elveden and Woburn
A question for some of my Southern friends here. Due to family health restrictions (daughter with leukaemia) we're restricted to UK holidays again this year and need to be close to a cancer treatment center. We're getting a bit bored with Center Parcs in the Lake District so we're thinking of coming further south this year in the hope of better weather. Has anyone stayed at either Elveden or Woburn? We stayed at Woburn two weeks after it opened a few years back, they had a few teething problems but was otherwise ok. It looked like they were going to be building a lot more lodges so I don't know what it's like now. We're probably thinking Elveden this time as its the only one we've not stayed at and we know Cambridge has an appropriate hospital should things go Pete Tong. SWMBO has friends and family in the general area too so we can hopefully see them too. Would be good to hear of any experiences, good, bad or indifferent.

Wife and I have taken kids and gran kids (and parents actually) to Elveden many times. We always liked it, pool is great (if a bit busy on occasions, but thats probably same for most centres). Accomodation always been good and clean. Its fairly flat if you want to cycle. Not stayed in them, but if you want to splash out, the new (year or so old) tree houses look fantastic.
Wife has been on a girls weekend to Wolburn, she liked it alot, but didnt visit the pool. Smaller than Elveden she thinks.MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

We’ve just come back from Woburn at Christmas and it was fantastic, we’ve been to longleat before which was again great but a bit too hilly as my daughter can’t walk too far and Woburn was a lot less hilly and everything was closer together which for us was perfect, we will definitely be going back.

We've done them all many times. Woburn was the last one we went to this year. I must say that prefer Elveden though.

Those Woburn comments would tie with our thoughts from when we stayed (4 years ago?) but I wasn't sure if the lodges were all finished when we were there. It was certainly a much smaller parc than the others at the time and that suited us as the youngest was still in a push chair. Depending on what part of treatment we are at then my middle daughter can get very tired so Elveden sounds good if it is flatter. The Whinfell staff were really good to us last time and let us into the pool early before general opening so Arabella could get some time in the pool before it was too busy. Anyone else with kids or family who are immune deficient, they really did try to help us.
edit - been to Sherwood a couple of times and liked it. Just fancied a change and the only one we've not done is Elveden.

Been to Elveden and really enjoyed it. Good facilities and easy to get around.
Sherwood is good too although I've not been for years.1995 Discovery 1 300TDI

Thanks, our thought is that Elveden is possibly our best chance of decent weather in the UK.

There was a lot of building work still going on at Woburn in the summer. Not sure if that would be finished now though
My eldest has stayed at Elvedon on three occasions in the past five years and Woburn once.

Some have a great slide called the Vortex where you go down in a 4 person ring but they don't all have it
