Central door locks

Hi
The nearside rear door lock on my 2005 HSE doesn't open via the remote and randomly will not open manually from the inside. I assume I have to change the door actuator but do I need to change anything else while I am at it. For an amateur how easy is it to do and anything to be aware of.
Sorry put in.the wrong area and don't know how to move to the correct location.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

It’s not impossible but slightly fiddly perhaps…. Do a search or look through the wiki. There are write ups of both the front and the rear.

Do it now or you will regret it!- for some unknown reason it is always this door that fails first, you may also notice it is not always locking.
It will eventually lock permanently and you will have a nightmare of a job opening the door, the inner door card will have to be trashed.

This is the cause of the usual failure, the little motor gets clogged up with carbon, it may be easier for you to fit a complete new actuator.

Ooh. Mine does this. I'd assumed it was just going to need some WD40. No such luck Laughing
