Central locking

I've noticed this a couple of times now.

I've opend the car up for my daughter to get in and the passenger side door does not unlock first time with the other doors, so I watched it this morning and when you push the unlock button the lock handle does not flip open fully but will when you press unlock again.

I'm assuming the actuator is not functioning correctly?

Does anyone have any suggestions as a solution appart form the obvious one of replacing it, also any instructions for getting at it would ba a help

I believe this is a feature: one press does the drivers' door, two opens all others too.

I think it's somewhere in the manual, as well as how to change this ISTR Thumbs Up

No you misunderstand, or I didn't explain it fully

I know about the single door opening.

So I press the key once, drivers door unlocks.

Press it a second time and the rest unlock.

However the passenger door is the only one that doesn't unlock, the latch is partly open but not fully, press the unlock again and the latch comes out further.

Sounds like a sticky mechanism or a faulty actuator?

PS, were you on the A442 towards Telford this morning? Around 9am?

The actuators get weak with age apparently - just had OSF and NSR ones done on mine for the same reasons. Never completely sure if was locked so had to check all doors before walking away. Kind of defeats the object really. Easy enough job to fit them as well.

Sorry, no pics - I didn't think about it at the time. Door cards are easy but remember the screw behind the LR badge.
Removal of the inner handle cables is easy - pop the cover off and move the cable round to the exit point - will become apparent when you see it.

Just be wary of stripping the door too far. I taped up the window as well to prevent it dropping and smashing but you can get your (smallish) hands in without removing it if you try. Patience is the key. Oh and thick shirtsleeves if you want to avoid minced beef style forearms Mr. Green

Study some of the guides on here regarding handle removal etc. That's what I did, and then I waded in with the breaking stuff bit Rolling with laughter
