Changing the battery

After just 11 and a bit years, the battery needs changing. New battery has arrived and next job is to fit it. Is there anything I need to be careful of? Will anything need re-setting if the battery is disconnected and a new one fitted?

Thought I'd best ask before I disconnect the old one...

Thanks all!

Andy

Nope! Take the old one off (undo the negative first) and put the new one in (attach the positive first). Thumbs Up

its worth lifting the bonnet all the way up to 'service mode'.

makes it a helluvalot easier to lift the battery out and back in.

Powerful UK do a video on how to do this for a range rover, but its the same process for the D3

Helpfully, on the D3 there are ridges for the gas strut to socket into so it can continue to support the bonnet once released from its attachment, letting you move over to the other gas strut while the bonnet is still self supporting.
