Changing the fuel filter on a 05 model
Hi All
I have just read a thread on how to change an early type fuel filter. Everything was OK until I got to the part about bleeding the system using a valve under the engine cover. Is this correct? On my TD5 it is self bleeding. Is this a backward step?
Thanks Roger 47

Yup needs to be done - not a big deal really - just a bit messy

Just cycle the ignition 3 or 4 times, leaving it on for 15-20 secs each time, then start it. Wont need to bleed the system that way

I asked about that and the technician mentioned that it can cause an air lock that would require priming the injectors with the test book . It really is dead easy to do .

Yea, it is easy enough. Easier than changing the filter even. But, its not essential
