Charging car battery with tmax fitted
Morning all I want to charge my disco battery through the 12v s Scocket with a ctek charger, I have a tmax split charge with a second leisure battery.
My question is do I just Plug in and charge or do I press the link button on the tmax control to link the battery's or disconnect the leisure battery?

I have the same setup. When charging via towing socket, once the main battery gets enough charge and it's floating at full capacity I find that there ends up enough voltage in the system for the controller to think the car is 'on' and charging via the alternator, so it energises the solenoid and links the batteries. There then tends to be a bit of a drop and it clicks off. This (on my setup) cycles every minute or so. To avoid this, I simply unclip the connector on the back of the T-Max controller when I am leaving my car on c-tek charge (as it is at the moment during lockdown)

No worries. You don't actually need to do anything for it to work, but you'll find the clicking annoying and probably just adding wear to the solenoid so it's easy to unplug. I do keep meaning to add in a normally closed relay to the green wire for the T-Max to disconnect if it senses charge coming in from the towing socket but haven't quite figured out how it world work yet, I fear it may involve diodes D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten
