Cheapest diagnostic tool for the codes

Hi All,

Getting in to my own repairs on my D3 and I’m looking for a diagnostic tool that will let me have the codes with descriptions. Obviously reading the multiple topics on this the iid tools is the best but I can’t justify the cost. I’m looking at the icarsoft range, and although the v2 is the latest would a 930 be sufficient? Is there anything else out there that would give me a read of codes for less? Cheers

I have a Faultmate FCR - is just a code reader with descriptions - cannot change settings only read and clear.

Available from Blackbox Solutions.

As a code reader, the i930 is self contained and works well. The v2 I'm sure is an improvement but for the money the i930 is very good IMO.

+1 for the iCarsoft i930.

It won't do any of the calibrations but it'll read and clear all of the DTCs and view the majority of available live values.

Thanks guys, but from another thread on the boards, I went off on a tangent and bought a maxi AP200
https://www.auteltech.com/autelcms/Specialty%20Products/595.jhtml

This thing was £50 on Amazon so was worth a punt and to be honest is spot on for what I need, reads & deletes codes, saves and prints error reports, gives me live stats and even lets you programme keys and carry out some service resets. I’ve been using it this weekend and has been spot on. You get one free manufacturer to download with the tool buy (extra manufacturers around £25j so can Diag-Europe all landrover makes & models now.

You might like to try www.autelstore.co.uk. They are asking £47 and supply the 2020 model.
Free P&P quoted at 7-15 days but mine came last Saturday having been ordered late the Saturday before.
Express delivery available at a premium.

Edit forget express delivery it is 3-5 days and costs £21.40

Edit 2 Apparently it arrived earlier than Saturday, whilst I was away.
