Checking your oil level on the Discovery 4

I know it's been explained before, but I did a short video of the normal procedure for checking the oil level on the 3.0 diesel V6:

Yes, if you have already started it, having the bonnet open, then pressing cruise control cancel twice will display the instant oil level when you are on the level screen. Bear in mind the oil won’t have settled to the correct level, but is handy for a quick check. Always best to wait and check when left, say overnight, on level ground for an accurate reading.

My drive is on a reasonably steep slope, so I used to occasionally check on level ground and note level and then check again a short time after on my drive, allowing time to cool and settle and note level - provides a baseline for comparison on a slopes surface.
