Played a little game today.
Phoned a branch of a well known national chain.
Spoke to the service manager about a power upgrade.
He said that they and LR were totally against any kind of upgrade and would strongly contest any kind of warranty claim if an upgrade was found.
Phoned the London branch of the same chain and was told no problem at all 2 days notice and only £1175 incl all PARTS vat and labour. And what parts would they be? He could not tell me He also could not tell me any of the figures re the power upgrade.
I know the London dealer uses Turbochip, and as I say this was just a game / experiment as I would only get this done directly through TC himself, but it goes to show why there are so many of these threads asking the pros and cons of "chipping".
Isn't it time that LR realised that the Turbochip product is a "safe" product, especially as their probably most prestigous dealership are readily recommending it, just think how many people would have ticked the box if this was a factory option.

Would it be correct to surmise that the difference between what TurboChip quote direct and this figure becomes a LR warranty? Or do we just assume it goes towards the dealer's overheads/overdraft/overland expedition?
Reason to ask is I'm still ruminating about an upgrade, but since I'd like to keep Truckasaurus for a long while (5+ years), I'm concerned about long-term 'behaviour'. To pay LR a £500 premium to underwrite such gives another option. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

I would suspect that there is no extra warranty just goes towards a very expensive showroom.
