Craig, you're a clever fellow  Because of the torque increase, on acceleration an automatic will change up a gear earlier meaning less explosions per second, less fuel burnt per second i.e. less power ! Its only when in top gear that potentially more fuel can be burnt per second. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song
