Think some of the classic defenders will be worth a lot, from the works or a camel trophy

The RS500 is a true limited edition classic based on the normal RS Cosworth. Only produced 500 (for homologation purposes) and of those, the blue ones were the rarest with only 52 made. A few more white ones and the vast majority black.
Interestingly, the RS Cosworth engine used the Pinto block of the earlier RS2000 Escort with a new Cosworth head and, in the RS500, had an extra injector for each cylinder which was deactivated on the road cars but allowed the race cars to make around 500bhp (with other allowed changes). They also had some no-good-for-anything tabs near the rear suspension trailing arm mounts which allowed the race cars to have different suspension geometry - clever use of the rules by Ford.
And the RS500 was built by Tickford, not Ford, using the standard RS Cosworth base.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

My favourite magazine of the 70's+ was Car and Car Conversions.
At the time I had a mildly tuned Hillman Imp Sport and they had a piece on a Sunbeam Imp. They took out the rear seat and squeezed in a Rover/Buick 3500cc V8 attached to a Hewland gearbox. The impressive bit was they made it all fit inside the original bodyshell.
it came up for sale about 9 months later but for more pennies that a student nurse can afford.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

I even threatened the wife with buying one
Assume if u bought one u would have to say that ur going to give the engine an Italian tune up
But indeed have drastically increased in price
