Here you go, when you change it you don't lose any coolant.

Good Call on the V8.
Have them clean the throttle body, and do a BG induct cleaning. Check that the cowl is not warped by the Pollen air filter duct. Check for sunroof drains leaking. Replace coolant T plastic breather pipe.

Ack clean the throttle body. Can you explain what you mean by the cowl and air filter duct?

https://landroverforums.com/forum/lr3-28/w...342/page5/

I'm prob being dense but what's the BG induct?

Lastly, why change the coolant breather T if the original isn't leaking?

And on all V8s I'd suggest adding a can of BG44k to the fuel tank (not sure if that would affect LPG though).

Drove to Bournemouth yesterday with the intent on getting the D3 front suspension back up and running. Arrived, took wheel off and sure enough I could hear air escaping by the front nearside airbag. Took the wheelarch liner off, (which took the longest time as a few screws were rounded), and sure enough the repair pipe that the LR garage had put in had too much slack on it and had melted on the exhaust heat shield.

Just managed to get a repair section in there and re-route it better. Tested and all good.

Today we drove it back home and it drove like a dream, my wife behind in my D2.

A few jobs to do in prep for its MOT;

sort out number 8 as its misfiring on petrol but ok on LPG with engine light on.
Fuse gone for window washers
yellow warning light on for parking brake.

And what ever else the MOT man finds ....

But at least its home now.

Got a few jobs done on the truck;

Fixed windscreen washers - fuse gone and they jets were blocked and drivers one had hose hanging off !
Secured battery in place.
Machine polished bonnet as its very scratched, needs a respray but its a bit better.
Got sunroof working thanks to this forum.. Calibration done Bow down

Got a random amber park brake warning light that sometimes appears, EPB is working fine though. Also both sets of parking sensors are random to say the least. will look at wiring and sensors sometime.

MOT and then I have some goodies to fit.

D4 2015 style grill
20" RRS supercharges alloys in gloss black (once I get some tyres)
2015 black LED rear lights (well I got 1 so far) !!

It's all fun.

Modded the headlights over the last few days;

Split them, painted the inners gloss black, added 80W CREE LED Indicator bulbs + resistors), Philips copy Diamond Vision 5000k Main beam bulbs, and of course my own COB angel eyes.

Do you mean the headlights? No as they are bi-xenons so they don't reply on reflectors. You can see I have not painted the reflectors for the main beam.

I don't like how it looks at all. Its too home made and too much black.
I would have followed a bit the D4.5 head light scheme. Black inside area and black top and bottom.

Well time for an update, been almost another year since I last posted !!

MOT time last week, she flew through again, only advisory was chip in windscreen which has been there for years.

Well I have had to do a few small jobs on the V8 over the last few weeks, we have always had a misfire running on petrol (fine on LPG), when it was serviced by our local LPG specialist I asked them to look at it. He suspected the injection module and there are 2 of them (1 for each bank).

He got it working, but strangely when I did a clear fault using my IIT the misfire came back. So I took note of which cylinders were failing and swapped the plugs on said modules. sure enough the misfire moved as well.

Note to people using a Prins kit, the 4 cyc injection modules are no longer made so you have to buy a 6 cyc one. They still work the same. Glad to say it solved our issue and she runs perfectly smooth now.

A few weeks ago we took the truck along the Ridgeway (byway) up near us here in Wiltshire, right at the end there was a bit of low lying water, I went through it slowly and then there was a massive wooosh noise. N/S/F susp lowered. ummmm I limped it home and had a look and sure enough one of the plastic pipe joiners has failed (prev has melted pipe from manifold after a LR Indie routed pipe incorrectly). I replaced with a metal one and all good.... or so I thought !!

N/S/F continued to drop and compressor on a lot more. With me working in Russia at the world cup I didnt have time to look at it until last week. sure enough a pin hole in the airbag. New one ordered from Advance Factors, should be here any day hopefully.

Apart from that, she has been a dream, and very handy at logging timber around as I am building a new Chicken coop at the moment !!
