Colour blind, gormless sparky.
Wanted to look in the distribution board at work today.
First problem was opening the distribution board cover as one of the 'bolts' securing the cover was sheared off.
Out come cordless drill and drilled it out. Why had it sheared? Used an 8 gauge woodscrew instead of a 4mm bolt
8 gauge woodscrew which is 4.2 mm going into a 4 mm nut.
Now what colour is electrical earth cable? Now as far as I am aware for about the last 50 years in the UK it has been green and yellow. Not according to some dimwit sparky who decided to extend the earth cable by using triple live cable.
Cables going into metal distribution box not going through rubber grommets!
Now this board was examined and past as safe by a so called professional sparky last year who 'secured' the cover.

Green and yellow tape covering the browns in the connector block might just have been acceptable...

No idea who original fitting sparky was or the one who did the 5 year (?) periodic check.
It is rented property so that would be down to the landlord. Will have to have a few words next time I see him.

Surely the old UK 240 volt cable colouring was
red live
black neutral
green earth
Some people are red green colour blind hence the danger and reason for change
A quick check on colour blindness and sparkies here
