Competition of the week . . . .

OK guys and gals....

A jelly baby for all who answer the following two questions correctly that relate to the bottom inscription showing on this regularly purchased consumer item:

(a) What do you think any reasonable consumer would infer it means?

(b) What it actually means?

Please post answers as responses to this thread by Sunday eve...

Cheers!

Well as a consumer I would assume (wrongly) it meant lifetime. But obviously not. Another advertising play on words.
Like when broadband says “unlimited” but then says in the small print “subject to a fair use policy” there’s always a get out clause and to be honest should not be allowed.

after 12 months it starts making a whistling noise and explodes when you open the bonnet to look at it, taking you with it. therefore, it did last YOUR lifetime. Whistle

Wow . . . so the guy I bought my D3 from (the original vehicle it was fitted to by the way) paid a hundred and sixty quid for this thing? I've just swapped it for an Exide EA1000 which was delivered to my doorstep for ninety seven quid, including the courier bit.

I like the way that Halford’s “battery expert” says that batteries should be checked “every 2-3 months””, when these batteries are now sealed and sold as “maintenance free”.

Beyond making sure the terminal clamps are tight and the terminals are greased to avoid corrosion, what other checks can the average user carry out on a sealed, maintenance free, battery?!

Not quite, but yes, I've had to fork out for a new battery to replace one that is just six months old. Full story after the closing deadline for suggestions.... Big Cry

Halfords were very good with my 'normal' Yuasa battery which was just under 5 years old. Even though I did not have a receipt.
The store manager said he couldn't do anything without a receipt but suggested I email Halfords customer services which I did. Customer services sent me a email back telling me to print the email and show the manager that they authorised a replacement.
Went to the store and they even fitted it for me for free.

Says who? The devils in the detail and the small print . . . . which appears to be sadly lacking in this case....

Great result. Got the e-mail for customer service? It might be worth a punt.
