Yes, that's the best solution.
It was my mistake that I left it on the garage last time.
They used this one.

Thanks for all the advice.
I now understand how the connector works (probably):
- one has to push the inside part of the connector to release pipes
- connector is screw-on type (hope that's the correct English term)
so I should be able to repair it and then I'll change to metal one.
