Compressor (got me thinking...)

After looking at the other compressor thread I have an additional question as I know nothing about these.

Apart from tyre inflation, is it possible to use them to undo/do up the wheel nuts (with the appropriate tool) ? Or are they only good for inflating the tyres...?

I could save myself some money when t comes to changing between winter/summer tyres/wheels twice per year. Plus it will be easier when swapping between road/off-road wheels once I get a set.

No you are better off getting a cordless impact driver and a torque wrench

Unless you have an air tank you wont get the volume to run one. You could take the air off the discos air tank. Whistle Mine inflates tyres well but haven't tried air tools.

Looks like it is either leaving to the garage or a torque wrench then...

As per manual, wheel nut torque is 140 Nm, you will need a stronger
impact gun than you think, with an air tank to match. It boils down
to the amount of air the tool consumes to do It's job, rated in Lt/min
or CFM ( cubic feet/min ) at X pressure. Then you can look for the
compressor with the required flow and pressure out put to drive the gun.
When you have done the costing Shocked a good power bar to undo
the wheel nuts will be a good investment Mr. Green
