compressor upgrade to AMK
Hi All,
Replacing the Compressor on my Discovery 4 from Hitachi to AMK kit , I believe the car needs a software update does anyone know where I could get it done in Liverpool ? and any specialist in liverpool too ,used to go LR speke but no longer open.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would have expected you to already have an AMK for that model year, but if not you can run the AMK on the Hitachi software temporarily without any concerns.
The pipework though is different, so if you do have a Hitachi fitted you'd need the conversion kit. Or, you could rebuild completely the Hitachi unit and save a chunk of cash! Rebuild kits are available cheaply.
Get yourself a GAP IID diagnostic tool and you can then upgrade the software yourself as well as having the capability to do all sorts of other maintenance! It will pay for itself quickly and you are going to need it if you plan to work on the car yourself.
If you use the search function here on the site there's plenty of available info on the compressor change/rebuild.

Gap tool
Thanks for the reply I have got myself the Gap tool use it to upgrade the software, to AMK still got a issue with normal height available message , Gap tool says U0421-68 (2B) Invalid data received from ride level control
module - Algorithm based failure looking into this now. Thanks for the advice 👍.
