Compressor woes.....help?!

Hi all, any ideas on this.....
Had a flat yesterday, stopped, jacked it up, wheel off, space saver on, drove home. Now I've had the tyre changed and alloy back on it seems my compressor is working overtime (loudly), I thought at first it may just be bunging pressure back into the system after it had been jacked up twice to change the wheel. A fairly routine procedure and nothing I thought would have damaged the air system? It does stop after a few minutes of driving but it's the volume and vibration that's worrying me! Eek! Any ideas?

Al

Surprised)

You didn't jack the car up on the compressor case and crack it did you so it sounds louder?

Don't think so....used the OEM jack and locator hole in the chassis, although it did slip on the jack thread and drop an inch before biting..... Uurrrrghhhh, this sounds expensive Surprised(
