Got my 54 plate HSE last night, it has the phone buttons behind the steering wheel and they activate when pressed.(i.e. phone mode)
Only thing is i don't have a docking station for the phone in the centre box. Do i need this to pair my phone to the vehicle?

What phone do you have - you're probably better using a bluetooth connection , as the wired support is mainly for very old phones

Nokia 6300 which is in the shops now. So is it just possible to pair the phone straight to the vehicle?

Yes - you can establish a BT connection quite easily - it is covered in the manual
