Coolant level low - replacement tank
I have the usual coolant level low issue. I foolishly replaced the sensor (before reading enough posts on Disco3) which obviously did nothing as it's the float in the tank that's at fault.
I called the local dealer and they want £90 for the tank! I thought they were more like £30, has anyone bought one recently?

Before you buy the cheaper ones...make sure that your garage dealer/independent is happy to fit the part supplied by you.

I've ordered the one from ebay, many thanks!
Will be fitting it myself.

My D4 has started doing this - scares the life out of me when towing the caravan on the motorway
Is it a pretty straightforward job (i.e. <1hr job to do on driveway) or is it a full drain-down of coolant and other parts to remove to get access? If it's a faff I'll get it changed under warranty. If it's pretty straightforward I'll save the bother and do it myself at the weekend.
Appreciate the advice D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

It’s pretty straight forward but you can be the judge yourself.

Hi James, I managed it on mine wasn’t to bad, can be a bit of a sod to wiggle out. I found removing the headlight made it easier, I just put bungs in the pipes, then topped up with antifreeze. Made my back ache tho.

DIY it is then quicker than a warranty job. And less than the excess

I did mine a while ago and now it's doing it again. I bought a britpart bottle. Might have to buy a genuine this time unless someone has good reviews on another pattern part?
Mines only been on 1 year I bet. Owned the motor for a year and a half. Not the best longevity for a bottle is it.

I recently bought a 2011 D4 and has the same issue. It was a simple job to change, I second the point on removing headlight, would have been so tight leaving it on.
