I can relate to that. I taught hundreds of science undergraduates over many years and even the brightest in many cases lacked common sense. Like one student who leaned over the bench to turn off a lit Bunsen burner but turned on the tap for the other outlet by mistake. We had an immediate flame thrower shoot across the bench I had to turnoff both taps as she stood transfixed by the sight. The bench surface needed replaced.2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Trust me - this is even less funny when it needs explained to someone. Like SWMBO. Easily the smartest perso I know and with the degrees to prove it, yet she needs vacuum cleaner jokes explained to her.

At first. Then you find yourself constantly changing filters, wondering why the battery doesn't last as long as it should......I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
Dyson will no doubt make a reasonable machine and possibly not much dearer than competition... but using different tube sizes than industry standard and with eye-watering prices for accessories and spares..
