Correct oil filter for Disco 4?
I need to change the oil on my D4 myself tomorrow. I have the service kit from Advanced factors, and just want to check that the correct oil filter is in the kit.
It’s a Bearmach 1311289. What’s got me thinking is that it has the spigot on it. I thought I had read somewhere that the 3.0 was different oil filter to the D3.
Is this correct?

Also, is this the correct oil for my 2013 SDV 6 with DPF?

Handbook says
"SAE 5w-30 meeting specification WSS-M2C934-B only. If unavailable, oil meeting specification ACEA-C2 can be used."
So on that basis, that oil is fine as it's C2. Think you might need more than 1l though....D1 300Tdi - gone
D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone

I thought the inference of note in handbook was c2 was ok for topping up if you're struggling to get c1.
Gareth ... there's a place in Trafford Park that does c1. Want me to find the details?.

Wrong filter and wrong oil- do not use in a D4. Not like AF to get it wrong!
Use OEM filter only and wss-m2c934-b c1 oil only in a D4 with DPF.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Spoke to AF and apologies for incorrect filter. Oil is correct as they say C1 is not available any more. C2 supersedes for DPF vehicles.
They offered to replace by return of post, but I need to do this service today, so will get a correct filter locally today and I have enough oil in the kit.
Free D3 oil filter in Bramhall if anyone wants it!

So many conflicting opinions on this, it’s very confusing. I’m heading down to the main dealer this morning and will see what they are using.

Opie oils website says C2 is fine for DPF equipped vehicles and has PSA and many other manufacturers approval!

Ok so I suppose they mean that Castrol don’t supply it any more. Surprised that AF don’t offer an alternative.
